Atty. Manuel Iway

Board Member

Board Member Iway entered government service as a Hearing Officer at the Board of Transportation in 1980 and later on promoted as Chief Utilities Regulation Officer. He also served as Director at the Land Transportation Office-Region VII under former President Corazon Aquino.

BM Iway went into private practice after his LTO stint in 1992 before being appointed as LTFRB Board member in September 2010.

Engr. Samuel Julius Garcia

         Board Member

Board Member Garcia was appointed as Member of the Board in 1997 during the time of former President Fidel V. Ramos until 1999. Thereafter, he entered private practice as professor in various universities and as consultant in the fields transportation engineering and traffic managment.

He went back to public service after being appointed by President Benigno Aquino III in September 2010.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 202 on 19 June 1987. The Board aims to ensure that the commuting public has adequate, safe, convenient, environment-friendly, and dependable public land transportation services at reasonable rates through the implementation of land-based transportation policies, programs, and projects responsive to an investment-led and demand-driven industry. Atty. Jaime D. Jacob
Chairman

Chairman Jacob placed third in the 1980 Bar Examination and has long been an advocate of ensuring that public interest is served at whatever front as shown in his being appointed to various government posts.

A couple of years prior to his appointment as LTFRB Chairman, he served as Representative of the Second District (now 3rd District) of Camarines Sur and as Commissioner of the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission (PAGC) heading PAGC's investigation team.
